RSVP for Town Halls!
UPCOMING TOWN HALL MEETINGS
The Ward 12 office is excited to invite everyone to our upcoming, in-person, town hall meetings. There are two different topics that will be covered in two separate town halls. Please read on for details and note that the Ward 12 town hall date has been changed to June 28, 2023
ODAR TOWN HALL
Ward 12 and Ward 13 (Dundas) share a very popular road: the Old Dundas / Old Ancaster Road - “ODAR”. It is a unique and beautiful part of our city and often a destination drive for folks from all around. Safety concerns have existed for many years, but no action has been taken…until now. Our ward offices invite the community to attend one or both of the town halls scheduled: Ancaster on Monday, June 19 and Dundas on Wednesday, June 21. Councillors Craig Cassar, Alex Wilson, and City Staff will be in attendance on each date. These sessions will enable sharing of safety and community concerns, and an opportunity to provide suggestions and a vision for the future.
Our ward offices are laser-focused on road safety and we know this topic is top-of-mind in our communities. These town halls are an important step to begin the process of making ODAR a safe and enjoyable road for both our communities and the residents who call it home.
Have a concern elsewhere in the ward? We are tracking road safety issues as we develop plans for incorporating traffic calming measures into our neighbourhoods across the ward. Help us gather the data we need to identify areas of concern by emailing [email protected] and check out our ever-evolving Ward 12 Road Safety Map to see what has already been identified.
WARD 12 TOWN HALL *NOTE DATE CHANGE
Come and meet the Ward 12 Team and bring your questions, concerns, and visions for our community! Craig, Sherri and Nancy look forward to meeting Ward 12 residents and hearing what’s on your mind. We are eager to share what has been happening at Council and Committee as well as to pass on updates about a number of positive initiatives that have been taken to better our community since Craig took office. Some examples are:
Taking action on road safety
Pushing back on development applications that don’t align with ward priorities
Creating a Ward 12 website with community news and ways to get involved
Increased communication to residents through our monthly newsletter as well as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
We hope to see you on Wednesday, June 28, 2023. Free parking is available behind the Ancaster Municipal Service Centre / Ancaster Library as well as across Wilson St. at the Ancaster Memorial Arts Centre. The entrance to the Murray Ferguson Room is on the ground level at the rear of the building.
THANK YOU
To everyone who reaches out to our office with comments and concerns, thank you for your passion and advocacy for Ward 12.
Our Best,
The Ward 12 team.
