GARNER ROAD CONSTRUCTION UPDATES
Two major construction projects on Garner Road are nearing completion. Please read on for updates on both, including bus route detours.
Garner Road West and Fiddler’s Green Road Upcoming Partial Intersection Closure
The watermain installation project on Garner Road is entering its FINAL PHASE on June 11, 2025.
Please note that the intersection of Fiddler's Green and Garner will be partially closed for an estimated 4 weeks starting Wednesday, June 11. Westbound traffic flow will be maintained throughout the work (see yellow arrows in the images below).
Construction through this intersection—and the areas immediately east and west of it, which are already underway—is all that remains to wrap up this project.
Initially scheduled for completion by the end of December 2025, work on this large project has generally progressed well and is currently tracking to be done in July 2025, pending any unforeseen circumstances.
Please follow along with updates on the City’s Garner Road Improvements webpage. Note that there are two images: weeks 1 & 2, and weeks 3 & 4. One additional restriction will be added during weeks 3 & 4 of the closure.
The final image is the detour route while this work is underway.

To travel to or from locations south of the closure (yellow circle), please use the detours via Book Road indicated on the map below.

Garner Road E Trunk Sanitary Sewer upgrade
The work occurring near Bennett’s Apples and Cider between Kitty Murray Lane and Raymond Road is currently scheduled for completion on July 18, 2025. Time has been lost due to the wet spring; however, the City and the Contractor, Earth Boring, are working to complete the project as soon as possible.
Bus route diversions
Please see the image below for new eastbound bus stop locations during the closure.
